Libra Conglomerations

Libra is a busy sign this month.

Please see my post re: the qualities of the sign. This will all be inflamed as a result of three fiery planets inhabiting this very dynamic sign for much of the month.

Mars entered Libra on 10/3, Sun will join on 10/17 and Ketu remains there until 10/31. All three of these are fire planets, who cannot help but bring heat to wherever they go. Their specific varieties of heat are distinct, but their combined impact is full conflagration.

We have already seen some of this impact with the political instability and recent violence in the Middle East which began just a few days after Mars entered Libra to join Ketu. Mars-Ketu is a classic combination for terrorism, and also associated with wildfire and weapons and sometimes earthquakes. This creates some collective instability, especially since Ketu is unstable due to his upcoming transit into Virgo. This means that some of the decisions in this area of war, terrorism and violence will be made without much consideration, leading to potentially undesirable consequences. The fact that Jupiter is fully cursed doesn’t help since he would be the one to remind everyone about basic morals and human dignity and what is right and what is wrong and be preventing atrocities. Really terrible things that happen in life and in the world require an afflicted Jupiter—he is the planet that values life most.

Mars-Ketu in Libra can also inflame or cause sudden events in relationships. The main issue when these two get together is impulsivity and that things can happen fast. If you are able to slow down and not react you will be in much better shape if you find your relationships being invaded by anger and irrationality.

On a personal level this combination can create outbursts of anger and sometimes even actual heat or sudden disturbance in whatever area of life Libra falls into in your personal horoscope. You can also expect more irrational anger outbursts in general and for those with pre-existing anger problems to have a extremely short fuse.

Once Sun joins the action we will see that in the global arena, politicians are getting more directly involved with the conflict. There could actually be assisinations or other extreme actions targeted at people in positions of power. It is not a good time to be in a position of authority, as not only is the Sun under fire here but he will also be debilitated in Libra, showing the principles and morals of leaders will steeply diminish during this time. A debilitated planet is willing to compromise its values to get what it wants, and due to the other pressures it is highly likely for this to be happening to anyone inhabiting the archetype of the Sun (politicians, fathers, leaders in general).

Mercury will join the conglomeration of planets in Libra on 10/18, showing that there are some attempts at negotiation, with Mercury being the planet ruling communication. In your personal life it is a time when conflicts may be slightly more navigable and less explosive. After 10/31 the situation improves dramatically, with Ketu officially out of Libra, taking some degree of unpredictability and headlessness with him.

All of this shows us that relationships, and relating in general is more messy, more explosive and makes less sense than usual. It is a little bit too hot to touch, so if you have the option to not touch it during this time period that might be the best option. If you must involve yourself in difficult relationship dynamics, do not fight fire with fire. Water is what puts out the fire—of Mars, specifically—so staying close to an internal sense of softness and compassion, and not neglecting deliciousness in the face of so much pressure is probably the best way through here, even if you must be somewhat forceful or boundary-focused due to circumstances.
